As I was reaching for my aromatherapy roller yesterday, on the way to the grocery store, because I was experiencing an episode of extreme restlessness and heightened anxiety, I was inspired to write this quick post for you.
Our sense of smell is powerful, and so is everything that we apply to our skin, as it enters the body quickly.
Therefore, we can almost instantaneously reap the benefits of the many therapeutic actions of essential oils. They can, hence, be wonderful little companions - naturally - to keep on hand especially for emotional support.

How to Make and Use an Aromatherapy Roller:
In a 10 ml roller top bottle, add 5-10 drops of essential oils, for starters. Fill the rest with carrier oil - such as jojoba, sweet almond, or fractionated coconut oil. Give it a little shake. Apply roll-on to areas such as wrists, down neck, behind ears, on collarbone, and temples. Inhale deeply a few times. Re-apply every few hours as needed.
Note: Essential oils are volatile, which means the aroma, albeit triggering physical and emotional responses instantly, can fade rather quickly when applied topically. Essential oils work best when used continuously over time as scent memories can be created, which means your body responds faster to an aroma, already familiar.
