Mama's Toolbox: Essential Oil Healing Support Roll-On Blends for Children

Nice to see you, mama!

Let me guess: You’re here because you deeply care about what you put on your littles’ skin and are looking for some inspiration on how to best support them naturally when their immune system is down, or an ouchie has happened?

I got you! And I see you (because: same!).

It really does not have to be complicated to support their healing. Essential oil roll-on blends can be a tiny but mighty tool to help your children get better.

And the best past? You can easily make those roller blends at home with just a few supplies.

Of course, you always have the option to order a custom blend (or one of those I am suggesting below) if you don’t feel like DIY’ing one yourself.

Essential Oils Needed to Make These Blends

If you want to bring essential oils into your home, for diffusing, to benefit from their therapeutic properties, and to specifically make the above mentioned essential oil roll-on blends, here are the ones you’ll need:

  • Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

  • Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)

  • Helichrysum italicum

  • Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)

  • Lemon (Citrus limon)

  • Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)

  • Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum)

  • Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens — optional for the Breathe Easy Blend)

How to make an essential oil Roll-On

To a 10 ml roller ball bottle add drops of essential oils and fill the remainder of the bottle with carrier oil (such as jojoba, fractionated coconut, apricot kernel, or sweet almond oil).

Close lid; give it a little shake. Your essential oil roll-on is ready.

Essential Oil Blends: Safety

The blends mentioned above are generally safe for children 2+ years old. You can increase the number of essential oil drops based on child’s age. Please refer to my Kids Essential Oil Dilution Recommendations Printable as a helpful little cheat sheet to adjust the dilution safely, according to your child’s age.

If you have more children, start by using the lowest dilution ratio based on age of the youngest child.

Please patch test on child’s feet first to make sure no irritation occurs
