Grateful for Another Year — And Updates
It’s so lovely to see you back here!
I have missed writing and generally spending more time creating in my, dear to me, aroma infused space.
And yet, I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to unplug for some time and solely focus on my family, pouring into our three littles, re-evaluating what this space here means to me.
Truth be told: It’s where I can still combine my enthusiasm for a more natural lifestyle with my love for creating thoughtfully crafted, handmade items, serving others in a meaningful way, while still honoring my heart for writing.
Aroma Infused Living has been - and will be - a heart project ever since it came into existence towards the end of 2021.
Luckily, it ebbs and flows with my life and I can pick it back up where I left off — usually with fresh, new ideas.
I have visions for what it can become in the future and I hope you will be a part of it.
Today is my 34th birthday.
Somehow, I didn’t think it would be anything special. I also did not have any expectations whatsoever.
And yet, the day started off wonderfully: I heard our two sons (four and six) tiptoeing in the kitchen, arranging things on the table. I gave them a little bit of time, quietly chuckling while I listened to them before I eventually came out of the bedroom.
Oh so proud, they presented their birthday display to me. Flowers, balloons, hand-written cards (I know my own mama helped them with that, but that somehow made it even more special), and big smiles on their faces.
“Happy birthday, our dear mama” they shouted (while their little sister was still peacefully sleeping). They gave me each a big hug. Then, they proceeded to sing Happy Birthday to me and spent more time drawing a few pictures for me.
My birthday gift extended to you:
Enjoy 25% off everything in my Etsy shop until Tuesday! That’s a great chance to stock up on or try some of my handmade and micro batched preparations or find some inspiration with digital resources / printables.
I Feel incredibly thankful for this family of mine.
I made a quick batch of cinnamon rolls with homemade frosting for breakfast before we all needed to get ready for church. And, boy, did I feel emotional during that breakfast. A wave of gratitude washed over me as my husband, our two boys and one daughter (spilling the beans at this point: soon to be one more — surprise!!) sat around the breakfast table, our oldest son saying a prayer, and enjoying our first meal of the day together.
After church service, my parents grabbed lunch for all of us from a local cafe. I was showered with flowers, a homemade birthday cake, and gifted a prenatal massage (and I couldn't be more excited about it).
My husband and I - it also happens to be our wedding anniversary - then left the kids at their grandparents’ house and now have the remainder of the day to grab coffee from our favorite local coffee shop, go for a long walk, and probably get some dinner later. I was also able to get a couple of hours just now to dive into writing.
When we got home, one of our neighbors had put a big Happy Birthday sign on our fence. I truly feel loved.
It may all sound so simple, but this day is perfect.
What a blessing it is to Be Granted the gift of getting older.
This thought - and actual truth, to be honest - has been stuck in my head today and I keep thinking about it.
All too often do we complain about aging; another birthday; another reminder that we are getting older. But truthfully, getting older is a gift that is denied many.
Maybe that is why I was so very moved this morning, as I felt our second baby girl moving around in my belly, while the kids sat at the table devouring, probably a bit too much, of the homemade buttercream frosting, my husband happily munching on his bacon.
What a privilege it is to witness these kids growing up; to have the responsibility to teach, disciple, guide, and simply love them.
What a gift it is to have been given this wonderful man as my husband who loves us so well; who always puts us, me, first; who provides for us, and who I get to grow older and raise our growing family with.
In the light of all this, it is a blessing to be granted the gift of getting older.
Aroma Infused Living will continue serving you with tried + true, custom made, and micro batch aromatic and herb-infused preparations.
My humble little Etsy shop has been back open for a little while now. I invite you to check out what’s new. All preparations are used in our own home in an effort to lower our personal toxic burden, and ultimately elevate our family’s well-being.
I am excited to make these aromatic products available to you. It’s a simple start; a simple swap of one little thing. But it can have great impact on your family’s wellness.
We all have different budgets and resources. Going “all natural” is sheer impossible in my personal opinion. But taking small steps towards swapping a thing or two out, here and there, can often make a big difference.
As I Step into this new year of my life, I am reminded …
how much I enjoy serving others. Whether it be with an open, listening ear, a home cooked meal, or by — spoiler alert — offering our thoughtfully created preparations.
Joyfully, from our veteran family (of almost six) to yours.
