Life Lately: Slowing and Narrowing Down
So good to see you here in my cozy, plant-infused (albeit virtual) corner!
Life has changed drastically, but in all the good ways possible - since the spring season. I have felt compelled to put my fingers to the keyboard and actually write out (also a way for me to process and reflect) where I’m at currently, and where the path takes me, both in my personal life and in my aromatherapy business.
Hopefully this allows you to feel connected with me, in a way, learning a little more about what my endeavors are and how I strive to best serve you.
Here’s what has changed, what’s new, and what the road ahead looks like (or may look like).
My small shop has mailed out 200+ well-received aromatic products.
Shortly before I finished my Aromatherapy Certification end of last year, I opened my small Etsy shop. The three products I started out with were well received (especially the Clear Airways Salve - also a kid version) and I soon started creating more products that made their way into other people’s homes - naturally.
Receiving such wonderful feedback over the last few months has really been my motivation to keep running this small business, besides being a mother and wife full-time at this point in life. I am so thrilled and thankful every time someone shares their excitement about how well a balm, salve etc. they added to their natural toolbox has worked for them and/or their family.
It is extremely rewarding to be able to serve others with aromatic products that we ourselves use. Hearing “Wow, this really works!”, is simply wonderful.
With this said …
I realized I enjoy making balms, salves, and rubs the most.
Of all the aromatic products meant to enhance your personal wellness and home - naturally -, I enjoy making balms, salve, and rubs the most. I am offering a number of handmade products inspired by our own way of using essential oils for our family’s wellness and a more plant-infused home, but the balms and salves are my favorites.
I have decided to narrow down the aromatic products I list in the next few months. Offering products in my shop that I enjoy making the most, and have gotten the best feedback on due to effectiveness and also them being versatile and generally safe for (almost all) family members, - simply: aromatic products to add to family’s natural medicine cabinet -, seems to be the path for me.
Of course, I will still offer other products. And custom creating aromatic products is still at the heart of my little aromatherapy practice.
I am planning on furthering and deepening my aromatherapy education.
Writing has always been part of my life and morphing this with helpful - hopefully inspiring - aromatherapy content is my motivation to keep filling these blog pages. I have also introduced a new category in my small shop that features pretty helpful printables and practical reference e-guides meant to allow you to develop your very own relationship with essential oils, using them safely and effectively. As always: I’ll add more as I g(r)ow.
Now, I am planning on diving deeper into specific aspects of aromatherapy, such as the use of essential oils for pregnancy, postpartum, and children, for instance. Moreover, it is on my heart to receive my Level 2 Certification - possibly in the next year -, to serve you on an even deeper level.
Especially as…
Slowing down and narrowing down - this is my focus for the future.
The art of focusing on what has been laid on our hearts, instead of feeling the need to do it all, is something special. With this said, I have gone through a change of perspective in the last few weeks in particular and have realized that slowing down and narrowing down is the way to go.
Why?
In an effort to: be more present and intentional with my family; for efficiently directing my energy towards things that matter most (such as planting, growing, nurturing seeds - figuratively, and literally); serving you better, with select high quality products but also focusing on the individual more, and hence, the human connection along the way - all while deepening my very own relationship with essential oils in particular, and the plant world in general.
Change can be a lovely thing, as it usually comes with growth and realizations to do and/or be better. This is the case for me and my little family. My hope is that my visions and aims, as laid out, will come to fruition and my site and practice, whatever way it will guide you, be of value to you.
